The small Alaskan town of Mystery swears by its town sport, hockey. Every Saturday, citizens meet each other on the pond, for an amical but intensive match. The team is the subject of a feature in "Sports Illustrated". But there are secrets in the town.

One day a former resident of Mystery, Charles Danner, who has become an associate TV producer, comes back to his little town to announce the big news: the New York Rangers want to come and play these seasoned amateurs! However, this event is going to demand a lot of sacrifices and all will not happen without conflict...

	Kevin plays his first movie role as "Tree" Lane, an awkward and naive young man, but eqipped with an incredible force. The captain of the team, sheriff John Biebe, wants him to become the defensive pillar of the team and so makes him aggresive and impulsive. This scene, between Kevin and Russell Crowe, is unforgettable! A perfect collaboration between both actors, and a magnificent role where Kevin expresses all of his talent, as well as the emotional side of his personality.
